For this episode we invited Carlos Alberto Augusto, composer, sound designer and specialist in acoustic communication. To paraphrase one of his books, we’re going to talk to him about the sounds and silences of the Arroios soundscape. Over the course of 471m, we’ll talk about three dominant and problematic elements of the urban landscape: noise, silence and music.

“Árvores sem raízes” is a monthly radio program, lasting 471 meters, which will take place within the defined perimeter: 471m around n.17 A of Rua de Cabo Verde. We will rarely cross this border! The duration of each program will depend on the length of a physical and imagined route, defined in advance, carried out in the company of one or more guests. Along the way, we’ll talk about the construction of the contemporary landscape and the relationship between our collective imagination and the places we inhabit, how we transform these places and how the places transform us.
