Sound It: erosÃo – Rio Seco

Sound It: erosÃo – Rio Seco

The erosÃo residency is the result of a collaboration between Filipa Cordeiro, Francisco Petrucci and Astvaldur Thorisson. During the week of 7-14 August 2022, 3 programmes were produced, or 4 sound pieces in total: Rio Seco, Ponte 25 de Abril, and Memórias Supraterrâneas, the latter with two episodes. Each piece was constructed through a peculiar mix of the research and production methods employed, and poetic expressiveness, whose ineffability is the perfect means of communicating the imperfect, the unfinished, the buried or that which moves and presents itself as yet perhaps unnamed but not without resonance. These are the moments, stories, songs, voices, melodies of the time we have lived, the time of the places, spaces and things we have encountered, which we then evoke sonically, like small grains of a reality that is constantly under construction and eroding.

Sound It brings Rádio Antecâmara’s residency to Garagem Sul at CCB. With a wide-ranging programme over six months, the studio welcomes numerous guests, and it is through dialogues between architects, artists and designers, and in conversations with poets and landscape designers, between interludes made of sounds and music, that Rádio Antecâmara takes a closer look at our contemporaneity.
Sound It explores the ways in which sound constructs and shapes perception and spatial experience. Transcending the visual dimension and going beyond acoustics, Sound It delves into the perceptual, narrative, emotional and referential dimensions of space. It’s a subjective journey to discover an invisible architecture, a space perceived sonically, an audible and emotional place.
The word is the virus of radio, sound is the matter of space.
