IMAGE AND PROCESS IN ARCHITECTURE
In this episode of Conversas et Al., we are joined by Vânia and Filipe from FMVS Arquitetos, who bring us two photographs and a light switch as artifacts. It’s these objects that become the main thread of today’s conversation. They invited Frederico Martinho, a photographer who has been following FMVS Arquitetos’ research, to bring his vision of photography to this dialog.
The image sums up, in a way, the dilemma of the statement: it represents (or is produced from) material culture, it constructs immaterial culture. It records, it becomes autonomous, it becomes an object of desire in its own right. In this way, a theme of material culture versus the immaterial culture of practice is addressed.
