The ‘Permanências Efémeras’ residency programme features a conversation with Francisco Fonseca and Pedro Jervell.
In this first episode, we take the guests’ backgrounds and practices as our starting point to explore different approaches to matter, space and the processes of transformation that underpin contemporary artistic practice. The conversation reflects on the relationship between permanence and impermanence, addressing forms of creation that are built upon time, experience and the constant alteration of bodies and environments.
Throughout the episode, we also discuss working methodologies, collaborative processes and the way in which the artistic gesture can reveal transitory states, tensions and fragilities present in matter and in the exhibition space. Spanning critical thought, practice and experimentation, this episode launches a series of conversations dedicated to the multiple ways in which the ephemeral is inscribed.
A conversation that intersects art, process and temporality, opening up space to reflect on what remains through transformation.
