The Listening Biennial

The Listening Biennial

The Listening Biennial is based on the idea that listening is a relational capacity, a proposition that is both philosophical and political, a creative practice and a research methodology. Conceived as a collective and collaborative project based on sharing, reciprocity, exchange and mutuality, the second edition of the Biennial includes the exhibition of thirty audio artworks – entirely sound pieces, without any visual or physical presence – experimental performances and discursive events presented in a constellation of institutions in several countries simultaneously, where listening and locality are accentuated, and cultural specificities contribute to a greater ecology of attention.

In the course of the dialogues with the artists, works with two or more versions emerged, providing different listening situations and experiences. The Antechamber hosts extended versions, lasting between 20 and 60 minutes, of the research works by Ayọ Akínwándé, Landra (Sara Rodrigues & Rodrigo Camacho) and Tara Fatehi & Pouya Ehsaei.
