0 Justo Custo is a magazine born out of the desire to listen to and understand the difficulties, desires, needs and experiences in the housing sector in Portugal, and what this represents in terms of collective desires, such as faint signs for possible futures. It’s a curious and artisanal approach, a space for research, reflection and shared imagination, built around the words of those who imagine and experiment with housing alternatives. Fair Cost is a construction conceived from an assemblage of various materials, raw and refined raw materials, collected, received, donated or borrowed, which unfold into a physical support, a fragile object in a noisy world, but one that tries to listen to it. Each themed issue composes an arbitrary landscape, produced iteratively: true and fictional stories, conversations, photographs, data and even sounds. Through this plurality of points of view, Justo Custo addresses issues of equity, the sharing of resources and spaces (just), and the consequences of their commodification (cost).Chaves to Faro.’
