Offret

Offret

The sixth episode of Space Aphorisms discovers the house-landscape in Offret (or O Sacríficio,
in the Portuguese translation), Andrei Tarkovskij’s last movie, filmed entirely in Sweden and
1986. The house-landscape is a cinematographic construction that reveals, however,
the different interactions between the house and the surrounding landscape,
reflecting, at the same time, the relationship between the self (as an expression of an inner experience, which can be
through philosophy, art or religion – and throughout the film all these different ways of experiencing spirituality appear.
different ways of experiencing spirituality) and the outside world.
