Nuno Valentim Arquitetura is an architecture studio founded in 1997 in Porto. It has worked on projects of different scales, programmes and frameworks. These include the refurbishment of Casa Andresen/Galeria da Biodiversidade and Casa Salabert in Porto’s Botanical Garden, the extension of the Lycée Français do Porto and the refurbishment/modernisation of the Bolhão Market. His practice seeks to be attentive to the reality in which he operates and to its physical and human presence, where architecture is understood as an activity of synthesis between the programme and the context, and the architect is recognised as an author and key player in responding to social, environmental and landscape needs.
