Luciana Fina
Luciana Fina was born in Italy and has lived and worked in Lisbon since 1991. A filmmaker and artist, she has developed an extensive body of work for cinemas, museums, galleries and the stage.
After a long collaboration with the Cinemateca Portuguesa in programming, she made her first film in 1998, as part of the generation that gave new life to documentaries in Portugal. Between 2002 and 2003, with the installation CCM at the Gulbenkian Foundation and the triptych CHANTportraits at the Museu do Chiado, focusing on the themes of migration and portraiture, he began his career in exhibition spaces.
His films, film installations and site-specific works have been shown internationally at film festivals and exhibitions. His work is represented in the Modern Collection of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum and Nouveaux Medias at the Centre Georges Pompidou.
In 2014, the documentary In Medias Res, about Manuel Tainha’s thought and work, was awarded Best Portuguese Film at the Arquiteturas Film Festival and an Honourable Mention at the Temps d’Images Film on Art Award.
In 2021 he presented a new installation work, Andrómeda, in a solo exhibition at Carpintarias de São Lázaro / Festival Temps d’Images.
