Inês Lobo

Inês Lobo is a Portuguese architect born in Lisbon in 1966. She graduated from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts in 1989 and began her professional career collaborating with architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça between 1990 and 1996. During the same period, she began teaching architectural design at the Technical University of Lisbon. In 1996, he set up a partnership with Pedro Domingos, forming the atelier Domingos & Lobo, which was active until 2001. The following year, she founded her own office, Inês Lobo Arquitectos, dedicated to projects ranging from cultural and educational facilities to the requalification of urban spaces.

Throughout her career, Inês Lobo has also excelled in the academic and curatorial fields. Since 2000, she has been a guest lecturer at the Autonomous University of Lisbon. She has participated as a commissioner in the Portuguese representation at various editions of the Venice Architecture Biennale, including the 2012 edition with the ‘Lisbon Ground’ project. Her work has been recognised with awards such as the ArcVision – Women and Architecture Prize in 2014 and the AICA/MC/Millennium BCP Prize in 2017, awarded by the International Association of Art Critics and the Portuguese Ministry of Culture.
