My House, My Vessel

What does it mean to call a place ‘home’? And when that house has never been lived in, but only dreamt about? In this episode of our podcast, we enter the sensitive universe of the exhibition My House, My Vessel, by artist Alejandro Manzano, to explore the house as a container – physical, emotional and deeply symbolic.
Special guests from various fields join the conversation to reflect on themes such as inherited memory, the idealisation of home, and the impact of loss and absence on the construction of domestic space. We talk about the nostalgia of a place never inhabited, the words of grandparents and how spaces mould and are moulded by those who imagine and inhabit them. An intimate and provocative conversation about what remains when the house ceases to be a place and becomes a memory.
