Gonçalo Sena

Gonçalo Sena (1984) lives and works in Lisbon. Sculptor, book designer and editor, he graduated from FBAUL (2007) and holds an MFA from DAI, Arnhem (2011) with a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. He took part in the artist residencies Le Pavillon – Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2012-13), Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como (2014), Skowhegan, Maine, USA (2015), CCA Andraxt, Mallorca (2018), and Blank100, São Teotónio (2021). Sena was nominated for the EDP New Artists Award, Lisbon (2009), the Berlin Art Prize (2015), Panorama Madrid 02 (2022), and received the Premio Apertura Comunidad de Madrid, 2021. He has recently exhibited at CA2M, Madrid (2022), Oldenburger Kunstverein (2021) and Galería Ehrhardt Flórez, Madrid (2021). Alongside his artistic practice, Sena is co-editor and designer of the publishing collective ATLAS Projectos (since 2008).
