Gonçalo Antunes

Gonçalo Antunes is a geographer and professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA FCSH), where he is currently the Executive Coordinator of the Department of Geography and Regional Planning. He has a PhD in Geography and Territorial Planning, specialising in Territory and Development, from the same institution.

A researcher at CICS.NOVA – Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences, Gonçalo Antunes is dedicated to the study of housing policies, property market dynamics, urban geography, planning and land use. His research has made a significant contribution to the public and academic debate on the challenges of housing and spatial justice in Portugal.

He is the author and co-author of several books, scientific articles and technical reports on topics related to urbanism and urban public policies. Between 2021 and 2023, he coordinated the Degree in Geography and Regional Planning at NOVA FCSH, also taking on institutional representation and coordination roles in higher education.
