Fabrícia Valente

Fabrícia Valente is a PhD candidate in Architecture of Contemporary Metropolitan Territories at ISCTE and has a degree in Architecture from the University of Évora, with a research internship. She is interested in the multidisciplinarity of architecture and the possibilities of interfacing its disciplinary boundaries, particularly with the visual arts, music and cinema. She has further training in Photography (IPF), Video (CENJOR) and Production and Assembly of Temporary Exhibitions (Eugénio de Almeida Foundation). Her professional practice includes curating, educational curating, artistic mediation, teaching, writing and research. She worked on the curation and programming of the KAIROS Pavilion, carried out several pedagogical curation projects for various museums in Lisbon, developed the artistic curation of the Amor Veneris – Viagem ao Prazer Sexual Feminino exhibition, and is currently designing two curatorial projects in the areas of artistic pedagogy and music. She works in Cultural Mediation in the areas of Architecture and Plastic Arts at MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, the Berardo Collection Museum, the CCB and State of the Art, and has collaborated occasionally with the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. She has collaborated on pedagogical and artistic projects in more than 200 exhibitions and develops continuity projects between museums and educational institutions for all age groups. She is the author and trainer of modern and contemporary art courses for adult audiences, areas in which she is also invited to train teachers. She teaches on the Film and TV / Media Production degree programme, in a partnership between ETIC (Portugal) and Solent University (England). She is a member of the editorial staff of the Architecture section of Umbigo Magazine, of which she was once editor, and was a member of the last editorial staff of J_A (Jornal de Arquitetos).
