Eduardo Nascimento studied architecture at the University of Coimbra and, in the final stretch of his degree, decided to take up architectural photography. It was in 2011, initially together with architect João Fôja, that he began working as a photographer under the name “do mal o menos” @domalomenos. Currently based in Lisbon, he produces and edits specialized architecture photography, exhibitions and scenarios.
“do mal o menos”(www.domalomenos.com) has been featured in national and international publications such as 2G, A10, Domus, Phaidon, Jornal Arquitectos, Público, Arq’a, Frame Magazine, Dezeen, Archdaily, Divisare, among others.
From the extensive playlist chosen by Eduardo, Prince, Frank Zappa and Talking Heads help us tell this story.
In this series of interviews, we talk to architects who didn’t follow the traditional path of the profession: with one foot in architecture, their professional activity found fertile ground in other creative fields. We navigate between expectations and archetypes: we try to understand how a degree in architecture enabled an alternative career path, how this “transition” took place and where this matrix still manifests itself in their daily work.
We talk in the workspace of each guest, who also chooses the soundtrack, between the music they listen to while working or simply the music they can’t stop listening to.
