In this episode, we talk to Daniel Quintã, a native of Luanda, civil engineer and founder of the company Iperforma Angola.
Luandando is the title of a book by Angolan writer Pepetela, published in 1990. The book tells the story of Angola’s capital from the inside – it begins by describing an old man and some ladies who, while working on the beach, spot some ‘white dots’ on the high seas – none other than the ships of Paulo Dias de Novais, approaching. This ability to invert the narrative that we know leads us to question some ‘taken for granted’ facts about what we think we know. That’s also what we’re looking for in this programme. Paulo Moreira talks to personalities linked to Luanda from various fields, presenting experiences and perspectives that broaden the scope of history and help capture the true spirit of the city.
