Camilo Rebelo

Camilo Rebelo is a Portuguese architect born in Porto in 1972. He graduated in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP) in 1996. During his studies and in the years that followed, he collaborated with the architects Eduardo Souto Moura (1994-1998) and the Swiss studio Herzog & de Meuron (1998-1999). In 2000, he set up his own office in Porto, where he developed various projects, some in partnership with architects such as Tiago Pimentel and Susana Martins.

His work stands out for its relationship between architecture and nature, exploring the harmonious integration of the built and the natural environment. Among his most notable projects is the Côa Valley Museum of Art and Archaeology, developed in co-authorship with Tiago Pimentel, which won first prize in an international competition. In addition to his professional practice, Camilo Rebelo has a significant academic career, having taught at institutions such as FAUP, the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura of the University of Navarra (ETSAUN) and the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio.
