António Jorge Gonçalves

António Jorge Gonçalves is a Portuguese illustrator, comic book author and visual performer. With a degree in Communication Design from ESBAL and a master’s degree in Design for Theater from the Slade School of Fine Art (London), he has developed a career that crosses visual arts, performance and illustration.

He is the author of several award-winning graphic novels, including A Arte Suprema and Rei (with Rui Zink), and was awarded the National Illustration Prize in 2013 for his book Uma Escuridão Bonita (with Ondjaki). She is also known for her international project Subway Life and her visual performances with live digital drawing. He teaches at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.
