Ana Sofia Paiva

Ana Sofia Paiva is a Portuguese actress and storyteller, born in Lisbon in 1981. She has a degree in Theater from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema and a post-graduate degree in Reading Promotion and Mediation from the University of the Algarve, and has been telling traditional tales since 2007. Throughout her career, she has taken part in various national and international festivals, telling stories in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.

In addition to her artistic practice, Ana Sofia Paiva is a researcher at the Institute for Traditional Literature Studies at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and at the Memória Imaterial cooperative, where she is dedicated to collecting and transcribing poetic and narrative folklore. She is also the author of the book “Serpe – As Três Águas do Encanto” (2018) and was recognized with the Medal of Cultural Merit of the municipality of Seixal.
