Ana Aragão

With: Ana Aragão | By: Carla Lopes

Ana Aragão was born in Porto in 1984.
She has a degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP, 2009), an FCT scholarship and a PhD from the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra (2011-2014). She currently devotes herself exclusively to drawing, exploring the theme of urban imagery and architecture on paper.

We hear excerpts of music by Damien Jurado, Patrick Watson, Townes Van Zandt and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, regulars on the soundtrack of Ana’s studio.

In this series of interviews, we talk to architects who haven’t followed the traditional path of the profession: with one foot in architecture, their professional activity has found fertile ground in other creative fields. We navigate between expectations and archetypes: we try to understand how a degree in architecture enabled an alternative career path, how this “transition” took place and where this matrix still manifests itself in their daily activity.
We talk in the workspace of each guest, who also chooses the soundtrack, between the music they listen to while working or simply the music they can’t stop listening to.
