In 1991, together with his brother Nuno Mateus, he founded the ARX Portugal Arquitectos studio, responsible for emblematic projects such as the \u00cdlhavo Maritime Museum, the Sintra Forum and the Castilho 203 building, the latter nominated for the 2022 Mies van der Rohe Prize.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2007, he has been executive president of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, having been executive director for the 2007 and 2010 editions.
