The book tells the story of Angola&#8217;s capital from the inside &#8211; it begins by describing an old man and some ladies who, while working on the beach, spot some \u2018white dots\u2019 on the high seas &#8211; none other than the ships of Paulo Dias de Novais, approaching. This ability to invert the narrative that we know leads us to question some \u2018acquired facts\u2019 about what we think we know. That&#8217;s also what we&#8217;re looking for in this programme. Paulo Moreira talks to personalities linked to Luanda from various fields, presenting experiences and perspectives that broaden the scope of history and help capture the true spirit of the city.<\/p>\n<p>Paulo Moreira (Porto, 1980) is an architect and researcher. In 2011, he founded the Paulo Moreira architectures studio, whose work has focused on contexts of urban conflict and social deprivation. In 2018, he completed his PhD at London Metropolitan University. In the same year, he founded INSTITUTO, a cultural space in Porto, where he is Artistic Director. He is a postdoctoral fellow on the Africa Habitat research project (Ref. 333121392), coordinated by FAUL, funded by FCT and AKDN (Knowledge for Development Initiative Programme).<\/p>\n<p>This podcast was sound edited by Jo\u00e3o Ana (artist, musician and producer born in Angola, 1979).
