José Pedro Croft com Álvaro Siza e Nuno Teotónio Pereira

Another episode of #TelaHabitada is on the air. José Pedro Croft’s work deconstructs objects through their composition, or decomposition, in order to question spatial relationships. So we went to hear him talk about space and found a strong relationship with architecture. The route and the landscape told us about his relationship with Álvaro Siza and the theme of dwelling led us to Nuno Teotónio Pereira.

Architects and works mentioned:
Piscina das Marés, Álvaro Siza (1961-66)
Casa de Chá da Boa Nova, Álvaro Siza (1961-66)
Bloco das Águas Livres, Nuno Teotónio Pereira and Bartolomeu Costa Cabral (1953-56)

other references:
untitled (1993), José Pedro Croft (wood and plaster)

Credits:

Tela Habitada will be the place to see art through architecture. Or, perhaps, to discover architecture in a work of art. We want to get to know the art that “moves” architects, understand the vehicles of thought or even discover contaminations in the fields of action. The nature of these paths will certainly depend on each guest.
