Maribel Sobreira

MARIBEL MENDES SOBREIRA, architect, PhD candidate in Philosophy at the Faculty of Letters, University of Lisbon, in the field of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art, with an FCT research grant (SFRH / BD / 115766/2016) on the philosopher Georg Simmel. He has a postgraduate degree in Urban Heritage from the New University of Lisbon and a master’s degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, with a dissertation on “Architecture and Philosophy”. He is a member of ISPA (International Society for the Philosophy of Architecture), Simmel Studies and the Philosophy Center of the University of Lisbon (CFUL), having collaborated on the research project “Philosophy and Landscape Architecture”. She coordinates the NES_UL (Center for Simmelian Studies at the University of Lisbon). She designs and directs activities to raise awareness of the arts and architecture, and has worked with the Berardo Collection Museum since 2010. Under the guidance of Professor Adriana Veríssimo Serrão, she teaches several modules in the subject of Aesthetics and Ethics of Landscape at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon and the Institute of Agronomy.
