Irina Miodragovic Vella

Dr Irina Miodragovic Vella is a Maltese architect and academic, currently Professor and Head of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism in the Faculty of Built Environment at the University of Malta. She obtained her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Malta and a Master of Architecture from the Pratt Institute in New York.

Irina’s research focuses on digital design, computation, associative geometry, parametric modelling and digital fabrication, with a particular interest in the application of these technologies in less explored architectural contexts. In addition, she collaborated with Dr Toni Kotnik from ETH Zurich on the development of the ‘Matter Make Pavilion’ for MDW 2014, highlighting her dedication to innovation in architectural design.
