A Casa

A Casa

The House is a dialog between a man and a woman, written by Agustina Bessa-Luís for the film
part of the film Visita ou Memórias e Confissões, by Manoel de Oliveira, made in 1982, only to be
only to be seen after the director’s death. As Manoel de Oliveira does,
in part, in this film, we use these two works by the two artists to think about the relationship
between architecture and dwelling, based on the houses that appear in the text and the film.

Reading the dialog: Ricardo Vaz Trindade and Edite Queiroz.
Images: Stills from Visita ou Memórias e Confissões (1982), by Manoel de Oliveira, with photography by Elso Roque.

Music: “Go Home”, Angel Olsen.

Program on the poetics of architecture. While the philosophical aphorism seeks to express a truth, the literary aphorism is characterized by its expressiveness. The program aims to highlight this poetic dwelling that the word provides, referring to the relationship of spaces and bodies with life.
