MUSICAL LANDSCAPE OF THE NEIGHBOURHOOD?

92 nationalities live together in Arroios, the neighbourhood where Antecâmara is based. How does this multiculturalism influence the musical landscape of the neighbourhood?
For a fortnight, ETC will be lending an ear and a microphone to passers-by, residents, passers-by, shopkeepers, those who are lost, waiting for the bus or having a coffee. We’ll try to capture the sound and musical imagery of the neighbourhood through a series of recordings: formal interviews, discussions on the pavements, ambient sound recordings, sharing songs, etc.

And then, what are we going to do with this musical mapping and multilingual playlist? a karaoke night? a musical quiz? turn the Antecâmara into a dance floor? show the kids what a jukebox used to be? Organise the only concert by an ephemeral band made up of musicians from the neighbourhood?
